Jack Kahan is a Senior Managing Director and Head of the ABS and RMBS groups at KBRA. Jack has nearly two decades of rating agency experience, nine of which he served as the Global Head of the RMBS Group. During that time, he built a team with senior members averaging 21 years of experience. The team provides industry-leading ratings and research across the mortgage securitization landscape including prime, non-QM, second liens, GSE CRTs, and esoteric assets such as reverse mortgages and mortgage servicing rights.

Prior to joining KBRA, Jack worked in the U.S. RMBS Group at Standard & Poor’s (now S&P Global Ratings), as a director and analytical manager, responsible for newly issued ratings. Previously, he served in a risk management role at Sterling Stamos Capital Management, LP, responsible for evaluating the fund’s hedge fund exposure across various strategies.

Jack has co-authored numerous methodologies and research reports, served as model owner for the RMBS default and loss model, and is a co-chair or participant for various Structured Finance Association’s committees and task forces.

Jack received a B.S. in quantitative finance and a B.S. in economics from James Madison University.
