Michael Poulton is a partner and leads the securitisation practice at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer. Michael acted for the lead manager on ERM Funding 2021-1, the inaugural issuance under RGA’s UK equity release RMBS programme (Global Capital’s Overall Deal of the Year in the 2022 European Securitization Awards) and has since acted on a number of other public and private equity release mortgage securitisations and also sales and purchases of ERM portfolios. He acts for sellers, purchasers, insurers, noteholders and other lenders. He is considered one of the market leading lawyers for equity release mortgage transactions.
